How We Met
We met through mutual friends at a will.i.am concert in 2009! Jeff was in town visiting from LA, where he was attending the USC Film School for his MFA. Simone was living in San Francisco at the time, studying for her MFA in Fine Arts Painting at the Academy of Art. There were sparks that first night, but we didn't start dating until six years later when we were finally living in the same city.
The Romance
The flirtation began during our respective 30th & 28th birthdays (we are both Gemini's, two weeks apart!) and the romance blossomed at our dear friends, David and Maura Oehm's, wedding - where we were conveniently seated next to one another. After our first date, we both knew we'd found "the one!"
THE PROPOSAL
Jeff proposed at one of our favorite places, Hualalai on the Big Island of Hawaii! We decided to take a sunset walk before dinner, and that’s when he popped the question. After Simone said "Yes!" his family (15 of them!) emerged from the golf path to toast champagne and join us in celebrating. We spent the rest of the trip talking about where we'd like to get married and what type of puppy to add to our growing family! When we got back, Jeff surprised Simone with news that he’d gotten us a little golden retriever, and let her name him Pablo Picasso!
